The Arai Tour-X5 features the redesigned VAS-A (Variable Axis System-A) Max Vision visor system, which offers significantly improved optical clarity, a larger field of view, and an ultra-simplified, toolless swap mechanism compared to the older X4 generation.
Key Features & Improvements
- Tool-Free Removal: Unlike the Tour-X4 which required a coin or tool to loosen bolts, the Tour-X5 features a convenient lever-release system. You simply push a small tab on each side to release the shield.
- Modular Configuration: The new system allows you to easily switch setups. You can run the helmet with the visor and peak (Adventure), visor only (Road), or peak and goggles (Off-road).
- Enhanced Optics: The shield profile is flatter and wider than its predecessor. This reduces distortion, provides better peripheral vision, and allows the Pinlock anti-fog insert to seat more securely.
- Glancing-Off Performance: The VAS-A pivot point is lowered to keep the helmet shell smoother, maximizing its ability to deflect impact energy.
